Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms before creating your PathFolio account. They explain how to use our tools and understand their limits.
Version 2026-10-15 · Updated 15 October 2026
1. Using PathFolio
PathFolio is a career exploration and planning platform. It brings together occupation information, education pathways, skills questionnaires, labour-market information, forecasts and temporary What-If comparisons to help you explore possible next steps.
By checking the acceptance box when creating an account, you agree to this version of these Terms and Conditions. If you are not able to enter an agreement independently, ask a parent, guardian or other appropriate adult to help you understand these terms before creating an account.
2. Guidance and informed decisions
PathFolio provides general information and exploratory recommendations. It does not provide individual professional career, education, migration, financial or legal advice. Recommendations, readiness measures and rankings do not guarantee suitability, admission, qualifications, employment, salary or career success.
Before applying, enrolling, paying fees or making a significant decision, check current entry requirements, accreditation, fees, course availability and employment information directly with the relevant provider or official source. Seek qualified advice where needed.
3. Your account
Provide information you are entitled to share and keep your account details reasonably accurate. Keep your password private, use your own account and sign out on shared devices. Do not impersonate another person or access another user’s account.
You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact the PathFolio team. Do not send passwords through our contact channels.
4. Profile information and data use
Creating an account sends your account name and password to PathFolio for account creation and authentication. The service uses a session cookie to recognise your signed-in session. Profile information you choose to save, skills, preferences, confirmed pathways and roadmap progress are used to provide your saved workspace and personalised guidance.
Questionnaire answers and What-If scenarios are sent to the backend to process the feature you request. Some preferences and questionnaire results may also be kept in your browser. Avoid including sensitive information or another person’s personal information in free-text fields. Leaving optional profile fields blank is allowed.
Accepting these terms does not authorise unrelated marketing, sale of your information or a new use of your information. Questions or requests about your account, access, correction or deletion can be raised through Contact Us; the team will explain the available process and any applicable limits.
5. Questionnaires and What-If comparisons
Questionnaires suggest possible skills and interests from your answers. They are not formal assessments, certifications or psychological tests. Review the suggestions before adding them to your profile.
The dashboard What-If simulator compares your saved direction with temporary preferences. The current lightweight engine uses text matching and can miss context, ambiguity, negation and unfamiliar wording. Rankings are exploratory ordering, not calibrated confidence scores or probabilities of success. A comparison does not change your saved profile or roadmap; saving profile or plan changes is a separate action.
Examples shown in How It Works are demonstrations. They are separate from your authenticated dashboard results.
6. Market information and forecasts
Labour-market records and course information reflect their stated source dates, scope and geographic coverage. They may be incomplete, delayed or superseded. Historical patterns and statistical forecast curves are estimates; they do not guarantee future demand or outcomes for an individual.
Read source notes, dates and limitations. A missing value does not mean zero demand, and a forecast is not a job offer or a promise of employment.
7. Acceptable use
Use PathFolio lawfully and respectfully. Do not submit malicious code, harass others, upload material you do not have permission to use, attempt to defeat access controls, extract private user information or disrupt the service through excessive or automated requests.
We may restrict access reasonably where necessary to address misuse or a security risk. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain the restriction and provide a way to contact the team. This does not remove any rights you have under applicable law.
8. Content and external links
PathFolio’s interface and original materials, and third-party datasets and materials, remain subject to their respective ownership and licence terms. Use the information for your personal planning and respect any source attribution and reuse conditions.
Links to education providers, official sources, LinkedIn and other websites take you to services governed by their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not imply a guarantee or endorsement of their content or services.
9. Availability and your rights
Features may be unavailable during maintenance, technical faults or data updates. We aim to keep information useful and accurate, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or that every error will be corrected immediately. Keep your own copies of information you need for applications and important decisions.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under Australian Consumer Law. Any limitation described here applies only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Changes and contact
We will publish updated terms with a new version date and explain material changes before asking you to accept them where required. An update does not retrospectively remove rights you already hold.
For questions about these terms, account assistance, privacy requests or concerns about information on PathFolio, contact the team using the Contact Us page.
